Reasons to vote Yes on the Loon Lake SD's November 2022 Capital Levy

Most school districts across the state are wasting taxpayer dollars with excessive spending even with the McCleary Decision's influx of millions of increased state property tax dollars. That is not the case for the Loon Lake SD (LLSD). LLSD is frugal with a total per pupil expenditure of $13,000 as of 2020-2021. The district has low overhead with 0 assistant superintendents for example. The LLSD superintendent is also the principal serving multiple duties. The district is an efficiently run K-8 single school building district quite similar to our state's frugal public charter schools. Many WA school districts select paid district staff to serve as the pro committee for the voters' pamphlet. The LLSD did not do that. They advertised for citizens to volunteer for either the pro or con committee. And one stepped forward.

This 6 year capital levy before you is for $100,000 for each of the next 6 years (2023-2028) for a total of $600,000. The previous 6 year capital levy was for $423,667 for each of the previous 6 years (2017-2022) for a total of $2.5M. So this new levy is a 76% decrease in dollars. There are no tax "rate" games being played by the LLSD. They plan for a constant amount to be collected each levy year.
